Interesting article about the state of the current real estate market in the Richmond Metro Business section today, courtesy of Joyce M. Rosenberg from the AP...the article is inclusive of the national market, but accurately depicts what we are seeing in the local Richmond market.
Since entering the business in October of 2006, I have never seen a market quite like today. We are experiencing a lack of inventory in the "good areas" and lot's of buyers looking to take advantage of low interest rates...Seller's are scared to sell because they don't know where they will go...when they do decide to sell, the properties sell quickly and bidding wars are common...on top of it all, new agents and brokerages are flooding the market because conditions have improved and they think "I oughta sell real estate."
I was so green in 2006 that I wasn't able to capitalize on epic market conditions before the economic downturn and real estate crash (2007 - 2015); although it was tough, it was truly the best market to learn in because nothing was easy, I learned a lot of good habits and practices hustling to make a living in the worst market in our nation's history.
Thanks to almost ten years of getting beat up and taking my lumps day in and day out, I truly appreciate where I am today in my career and the market we are experiencing today.
